Ch. 1 1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
Ch. 2 1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
Ch. 3 1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
Ch. 4 1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
Ch. 5 1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
Ch. 6 1 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
Ch. 7 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
Ch. 8 1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Ch. 9 1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Ch. 10 1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
Ch. 11 1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

Ch. 19 1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Ch. 20 1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Ch. 21 1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
Ch. 22 1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
