Ch. 1 1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
Ch. 2 1 I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.
Ch. 3 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ch. 4 1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
Ch. 5 1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
Ch. 6 1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:
Ch. 7 1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
Ch. 8 1 Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
Ch. 9 1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
Ch. 10 1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.
Ch. 11 1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
Ch. 12 1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
