quomodo : in what manner, how/ in whatever way, somehow. unus : one, only one, at the same time/ single, alone /unparalleled. mille : a thousand. duo : two. milia : (pl.) thousands. ideo : for that reason, on that account, therefore. quia : because. deus : god. suus : sua : suum : (refl. poss. adj.) his, her, its, their own. dominus : lord, master. illos : (masc. plur. acc.) They burned THOSE (houses) to the ground.
